Your mission

For our global supply chain management function we are looking for a highly motivated Head of Global Logistics (m/f/d).

The Global Head of Logistics is responsible for the strategic leadership, procurement and logistics projects development and execution. The role ensures the efficient management of inbound, outbound, and intercompany logistics flows as well as warehousing and terminal operations while optimizing cost, service levels, and capacity.
This position leads global logistics procurement, manages long-term relationships with logistics service providers, and drives capacity planning across ocean freight, rail freight, warehousing and terminal operations. The role is also responsible for global logistics budgeting and forecasting and serves as the cost category owner for all logistics-related expenses across subsidiaries.
  • Lead the global procurement of logistics services across all transportation modes, including ocean freight, rail freight, warehousing, and dry bulk terminal operations.
  • Establish and maintain long-term strategic relationships with logistics service providers and ensure sufficient transport and storage capacity across the network.
  • Develop and lead global logistics infrastructure projects such as identification of terminal / hub locations, storage capacity right sizing and operator negotiations
  • Drive global logistics capacity planning to support operational continuity and growth.
  • Work closely with central procurement, operations, and regional teams to ensure consistent global logistics standards and best practices.
  • Drive the standardization, digitalization, and continuous improvement of logistics processes across the organization.
  • Independently identify improvement opportunities across logistics operations and lead global efficiency and optimization projects.
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and drive initiatives to improve cost efficiency, service reliability, and operational transparency.
  • Own the global logistics budget, including budget creation, forecasting, and cost control across all subsidiaries – Act as the cost category owner
  • Develop cost optimization strategies while maintaining service quality and operational resilience.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain and logistics, preferably in an international environment
  • Proven experience in global logistics procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong background in multimodal transportation (ocean, rail, road, warehousing and terminal operations).
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global process improvement or transformation initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Collaborative team player with good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Fluent in Englisch. Other languages such as German, French or Czech are a plus
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 10-20%)
